Pan-European marketplaces: many countries, one account

Some marketplaces let you list once and reach shoppers in several countries. The catch: one account does not mean one VAT registration. Stock in several countries means several registrations.

Rules before revenue

One listing, several sets of rules

A pan-European programme such as Amazon's puts stock in several warehouses. Every country where you hold stock needs its own VAT registration, and packaging, electronics and batteries need their own producer responsibility (EPR) registrations too. Shipping from one country to shoppers in the others is simpler: you report through the One-Stop Shop (OSS) once cross-border B2C sales pass €10,000 a year.

As Merchant of Record, SAWA is the legal seller and carries those registrations in its own name. Your brand and stock stay yours. See the country guides for the rules per market, or start from the overview of all 27.
